For quality eyelash extensions, look no further than our very own Lash Goddess
When one door closes, another one opens… and in walks The Lash Goddess (also known as Alexis Bruns-Rivas). A few months back we were in need of someone in the esthetician realm to join our team. Honestly, I’ve always wanted a lash guru and call us lucky, blessed, or favored, our dreams came true and we’ve got just that!
Alexis wasn’t dubbed The Lash Goddess by me -- though I 100% agree with her nickname -- but in her job as a lash artist on Mercer Island where she worked on news cast members, football players’ wives, and women CEOs. So how did this young lady get started in her career? Read on to learn more!
Alexis was born and raised in White Center/Burien, WA. Just one day after graduating from high school in 2014, she found herself a Safeway cashier, unsure what her future had in store. In 2015 she decided to attend the Gary Manuel AVEDA Institute in Seattle -- a choice she made because of the Institute’s wonderful reputation, genuine mission statement, and profound vision of the beauty industry -- where she learned from the best of the best. After taking a lash course offered by one of her knowledgeable instructors and completing her esthetics course, she began really enjoying doing lashes. People were liking her work and coming back to see her, and her OCD really appreciated the meticulous nature of the lash business… and so, her passion was born.
After 2 years at Safeway, she was finally able to put in her notice and become a full time lash artist in Mercer Island! Woohooo! As they say, “life happens” and a series of unfortunate events -- haha okay, let me not be too dramatic -- led her to a different salon in West Seattle, Flourish Beauty (where she currently resides 3 days/week.) A year long stint at a Ballard nail bar before they closed shop was where she met our very own Calah… and the rest is history. She’s always hoped to expand into the south end and there’s no better place than Charme Studio!
Alexis provides her talents at Charme on Thursdays and Fridays from 10am - 7pm. Currently she offers classic and volume lash extensions, lash lifts, lash/brow tints, and brow waxing. In the future she hopes to offer bottom lash extensions, and hopefully even microblading!
Here’s the thing, getting lash extensions done by the right person -- just like your nails -- is incredibly important. Don’t go to anyone who hasn’t been professionally trained… because helloooo, that’s your eye right there! If they’re done right, they make getting ready in the morning so much easier and can be a huge confidence boost. Some people get extensions for the foreseeable future (no intention of taking them off) and others get them for special events… either way, they can last for about 2 months but if you intend to keep them on we suggest getting lash fills every 2 - 3 weeks.
Like all good things, cheaper is NOT better. Our lash extension rates are as follows:
Classic Full Set: $180
Classic Fills: Ranging from $55 to $85
Volume Full Set: $250
Volume Fills: Ranging from $85 to $120
So there you have it. We’re so grateful to have The Lash Goddess on our team and can’t wait for you to experience her services! You can book with her on our website -- in the same spot you book for your nails -- at charmestudio.com. Believe me, this beauty trend is here to stay and after one try, you’ll know why!
