The Heart of The Nail Fairy

Hi, I’m Martina—affectionately known as The Nail Fairy. For over a decade, I’ve had the honor of visiting children facing serious medical challenges, beginning at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma. My mission is simple: to bring a little light, joy, and comfort through something small—but meaningful—a manicure.

Wearing fairy wings and a tutu, I go room to room offering kids their choice of nail polish and a gentle moment of fun. Each child gets to keep their very own bottle of polish—a tiny gift that helps them feel seen, special, and cared for. Whether it’s to calm nerves before a procedure or simply brighten a tough day, the impact is real.

Expanding the Magic

After 10 beautiful years at Mary Bridge, The Nail Fairy is now spreading smiles at Seattle Children’s Hospital as well. I also visit local nursing homes and take part in community events where a gentle, uplifting presence is needed. Each setting has different needs, so we adapt—sometimes using polish, other times using stickers or creative alternatives—all while following safety and facility guidelines.

My hope is to continue expanding, bringing The Nail Fairy’s magic to more hospitals, clinics, and care settings across the region.

How You Can Be a Part of the Magic

The Nail Fairy continues to grow thanks to the kindness and support of people like you. Here’s how to help:

🎨 Donate Nail Polish & Supplies
Bright colors, glitters, non-toxic polishes, fun nail stickers, and temporary tattoos are perfect. Every child keeps their items for hygiene reasons, so your donations go a long way.

The Impact and Recognition

The Nail Fairy has been featured in USA Today’s Inspiration Nation, South Sound Magazine, NAILS Magazine, and The News Tribune. But the most meaningful recognition is always the smile of a child who feels a little more joy, even on the hardest days.

Every bottle, every act of kindness, helps sprinkle a bit of magic where it’s needed most. Thank you for being part of this journey.
